Input and Output Options

A wide range of input and output combinations are provided to meet the exacting needs of quality-conscious sound engineers. The Callan is available in analogue or digital versions:

• Callan A has two analogue stereo inputs
• Callan D has two AES/EBU inputs and a serial digital input with de-multiplexer to extract embedded audio signals. It can also provide an encoded analogue video output signal for monitoring in PAL or NTSC, depending on the input

The Callan has been designed with a variety of applications in mind. These include outside broadcasts, with workstations for audio and video editing, and equipment areas where mounting in a rack is usually more appropriate. Its compact and aesthetically pleasing appearance makes it especially suitable for use in small customer areas, such as edit suites.
